I totally blame Moyes
It wasn't not resting players that was the problem,it was his formation and selection of players.
Ogbonna and Cresswell could of easily been rested with the likes of Haksabanic and Johnson drafted in,but no we again play several players out of position.
Agreed total momentum lost,pathetic management

Our defenders were just too slow and a few of em too old too, as everyone has mentioned yesterday Arnav and Masu were decent .
I do not blame Moyes for this, the players have to stop making silly mistakes when going forward, who the fuck told Ayew he was a penalty taker, he struck the ball like a 12 year old boy, had that penalty gone in things would have been different Newcastle were dreadful.

Burnley & Leicester are and have been doing alright and heading in the right direction for good few years now. I don't understand how we are stagnant given our rich tradition and fan base or are we just cursed and reminded of it by our famous bubbles anthem!? Even Brighton and flippin Huddersfield have more points on the board then us now.

I agree Hammer and Pickle, and no Lanzini with strickers was not much good either. Those guys are just not much good at linking our defensive midfield to the “forwards”.
But it was the mistakes and set pieces (including the penalty) that really screwed us up. Why did cresswell take everything? I find him so predictable and he puts it to close to the goalie. Then Ayew should have never taken thepenalty, his body language just cried out that he was not up for it, I think Adrain would have done much better, and Arnautovic would have probably broken the netting.
We will get the momentum back with Lanzini.

Not totally blaming Moyes but his gamble to rest players on Tuesday has knocked us out of the cup and put us right back in the mire.

We lost momentum on Tuesday. Had we won I would have had no doubt we would have also won yesterday.

It’s goid to read the Moyes wants to bring some craft into the mid park as it was ridiculous how much we missed Lanzini yesterday. We feed the ball to him so often that it was almost amusing to see the players receive the ball and look for him yesterday. They then had to clip the ball into the channel.
